Privacy Policy

As a sex & intimacy coach and workshop facilitator, consent is important. In order to be compliant with GDPR, this is my privacy policy, which explains how I collect and store your information.  If at any time you would like your personal data changed or deleted, email me at hello@haneenkhan.com.

Personal Data

Being a small business owner, I need to continually engage in marketing and advertising so that I can find clients and continue to provide awesome sex & intimacy coaching.

What data I collect:

I monitor who is visiting my site through the magic that is Google Analytics. This means that I collect data on what country you’re coming from, age, gender, date and time of visit, pages viewed, your browser type and what type of device used. This is so I know what is working in my marketing and what isn’t, so I can deliver relevant website content and advertisements to you, to understand the effectiveness of my advertising and to provide a better user experience to you. (Phew!)

I also collect data through this website contact form, emails, text messages, social media messaging, social media posting or any other ways that you communicate with me. I keep this data so I can communicate with you, for record keeping and in case of any legal claims.

I collect your name and email address when you sign up to my newsletter so that I can send you my news, updates and marketing materials. This data is stored on Mailchimp and Flodesk and you can unsubscribe from my list at any time, for any reason.

I do not, have not and will never sell your personal data to third-party companies.  Because that’s just icky business practice.

Confidentiality and Privacy in Sex Coaching

I keep records of our sessions together, which is to help me work better with you and to monitor your progress. They help me remember what we’ve worked on and remember your most important details.

 This will include:

  • Your name

  • An assessment

  • Keywords or insights from the session

  • Any pertinent information relevant to our work together

Your records are all anonymous, and I keep them on a private Notion account. Nobody else can access this unless I am given explicit permission by you. If I have your mobile number, it is stored on my phone which is password locked and face ID locked. With any email correspondence, my email address is password protected.

I do not give your personal details to anybody else unless you give me permission to. I also would never sell your details- such as your name, date of birth or email address - to a third party. It’s completely unethical and would violate our coaching relationship.

Confidentiality

Everything that is said in our sessions is completely confidential and does not leave the room. I may need to see a supervisor as part of my ongoing professional development. This helps me to grow, gain support and guidance. Thus, I may share some of what is said in the session.

I also may share something with a colleague if I need some extra input, for example, if they have more expertise than me on a particular subject that I need more information on. My community of other sex coaches and sexologists is vital to my support, as I cannot know everything and do not pretend to.

In both cases, I do not share your name, location or any other identifiable information about you.

There are two other limits to confidentiality:

  1.  If I feel that you or somebody else may be at risk of serious harm. This is to protect you and anybody else for safeguarding purposes. My priority is your welfare, and I want to put your well being first at all times. If I needed to do this, I would always try to tell you first if possible.

  2. If I am legally required to disclose information, such as being ordered by a court or if the law requires. In this case I must pass on your information without your consent.

Rights you have:

You have the right to request a copy of any information I hold about you. If you would like to request this, please contact me (hello@haneenkhan.com). I will need to ensure that it is you, and not a third party. Information will be provided to you within 30 days. If you attend sessions with another person, then the notes remain confidential material of the client relationship (both people) and one person cannot request access for a third party.

I plan to keep client data for seven years after our work has completed. After this time the records will be destroyed. However the ‘right to be forgotten’ gives individuals the power to request the removal of their personal data when there is no compelling justification for its continued processing. If you wanted to have your data deleted, you would need to email me. I will need to ensure that it is you, and not a third party. I have to keep a suppression list to evidence I had complied with the request. Information about third parties (or where a second person has been part of the therapeutic process, cannot be destroyed without their express consent).
